What you get

  • Clients who want to work in English — that's the whole point
  • Every request verified by email before it reaches you
  • Each request shows the client type, what they need, the tax years, the size of the business and any tax office deadline
  • Contact details and when the client is reachable — no chasing
  • Requests go to every advisor who takes that client type. Once you take one, it's yours alone.
  • Only the client types you choose: freelancers, GmbH/UG, other companies, private persons

✓ Free to join

No fee while we ramp up. The first 10 advisors keep 50% off the later fee, permanently.

✓ Never a share of your fees

A flat monthly fee, nothing per request or mandate (§ 9 StBerG).

✓ Hosted in Germany

No AI reads your clients' requests. Klarbooks gives no tax advice.

How it works

1
A client comes to us

They say who needs an advisor, what for, which tax years and by when, confirm their email, and tell us when they can take a call.

2
You see the request

By email, the moment it's ready, if it's a client type you take. No obligation: pass on anything that doesn't fit.

3
You take it and get in touch

Take a request to receive the client's contact details, then call or email them. Whether and how you work together is between you and the client.

Who we work with

Steuerberater/innen and Steuerbevollmächtigte appointed in Germany. We look up every applicant in the Bundessteuerberaterkammer's official Steuerberaterverzeichnis.

You'll fit right in if…

  • ✅ You enjoy working with international clients, and explaining the German tax system in plain English is something you're good at.
  • ✅ You're easy to work with: you reply quickly, and you call when you said you would.
  • ✅ You're comfortable explaining how your fees work before you start.
  • ✅ You don't mind being the first tax advisor someone has ever had — many of our clients are new to Germany or new to self-employment.
  • ✅ You can pick up a new client within a few days when the tax office has set a deadline.

We're probably not for you if…

  • ✖️ English is something you'd rather avoid, or you'd only handle it in writing.
  • ✖️ You're not taking on new clients this year.
  • ✖️ You're looking for large corporate mandates. Most of what reaches us will come from freelancers, small companies and private persons.
  • ✖️ You're looking for signed mandates handed over, rather than good opportunities to win.

Questions tax advisors ask

Nothing while Klarbooks is in its calibration phase. Once requests pick up, we start a flat fee of 69.90 € a month per advisor (or 768.90 € a year in advance, one month free), with at least 14 days' notice in writing. Those days are free, and you can leave before the fee starts at no cost. The plan then runs for 12 months and renews unless you cancel 30 days before the end. Never a fee per request or mandate, and never a share of your fees (§ 9 StBerG). One plan, one invoice per advisor. The first 10 advisors pay 50% of the list price (34.95 € a month), as long as their participation continues uninterrupted. Founding status lapses if, after we have notified you, you open none of the requests we send you in the following 60 days; your participation otherwise continues.

Only this: for requests you choose to take, you get in touch with the client promptly (a first contact attempt within 48 hours). Everything after that — whether you take on the mandate, its scope and your fees under the StBVV — is between you and the client. Klarbooks never states or promises a price for your work.

That's why we're built the way we are. Klarbooks is not a tax advisory firm and gives no help in tax matters (§§ 2, 5 StBerG); we run a matching platform. We take no share of your fees and charge nothing per request or mandate, only a flat monthly fee (§ 9 StBerG). When you use the shared case file, Klarbooks acts as your service provider under § 62a StBerG, bound to confidentiality, and only after the client has agreed. You'll read the full advisor terms before you set up your account.

The platform and its database are hosted in Germany by Hetzner; email goes through mailbox.org. No AI reads or summarises client requests. Request emails carry the structured answers only; anything the client writes in their own words stays on the request page, behind your personal link. A request another advisor has taken is closed to everyone else.

Honestly, we don't know yet. Klarbooks is new: we open the client service once at least three vetted advisors are on board, and we only push client acquisition where advisors are ready to answer. We'd rather under-promise than sell you a number. Your first 14 days are free and billing starts only after the client service has opened, so judge us by what actually lands in your inbox.
